Verdict

BabyNido publishes desk-researched UK baby buying verdicts. We say who should skip a product. We do not lab-test, we do not invent prices, and we do not sell rankings. Affiliate links are labelled. Official NHS, GOV.UK and Lullaby Trust pages stay free and un-monetised. If that bar is too slow for you, use those official pages directly.

## Who writes BabyNido, and what experience do you claim?

Pages are edited by [Hannah Cole](/author/hannah-cole), a named human, not a brand author. We claim desk
research, not a consumer-lab panel and not a midwifery qualification. If a sentence would only be honest as “we
tested this”, we delete it. Lived parenting anecdotes are labelled as such when they appear; they are not evidence
      for a UK-wide rule.

BabyNido is owned and operated by Elite Digital AI Solutions Ltd, registered in England & Wales, Company No. 17250017. The public-facing name is BabyNido; the legal person is the company. Complaints about editorial
accuracy go to hello@babynido.co.uk and, if needed, appear on [/corrections](/corrections).

## How do you reach a verdict?

We start from the question a parent actually types, read the official UK page that governs it, then decide what a
shopper should do. The verdict sits in the first screen. “Who should skip this” is mandatory. A hedged paragraph
that leaves you where you started is a failed page, not a balanced one.

Desk assessment, step by step: (1) name the decision, (2) pull the primary source — Lullaby Trust, GOV.UK, NHS,
GOTS, HMRC — (3) print the check date, (4) separate legal musts from optional kit, (5) name the free page when it
wins, (6) only then add a retailer link if someone still needs to buy. We do not scrape forums and rewrite them.

## What will you never publish?

Invented prices, invented ratings, invented hours, invented “average UK spend”, and any implication that we
crash-tested a seat or chemically tested a babygrow. We will not mark up supplier stars as our review. We will not
put a year in a URL so the page dies each January. We will not recommend a cot extra that The Lullaby Trust would
      remove from a sleep space.

Absence of data is not evidence of absence. If we have not seen a certification, we say we have not seen it — we
do not call the garment a fake. If a retailer is out of stock, we do not pretend we know the next delivery.

## What triggers a correction?

A wrong legal fact, a dead official URL, a changed standard, or a sentence that implied first-hand testing we did
not do. Typos that do not change advice may be fixed silently. Advice changes go on the corrections log with a
date. We update dateModified only when the content actually changed.

Anyone can email hello@babynido.co.uk with a source. We will not take a brand’s word over GOV.UK. We will not
remove a skip-list item because a PR person asked. If we were wrong, we say so in public.

## How are affiliate links firewalled from the verdict?

Commercial links show a star and carry rel sponsored nofollow. Amazon UK is a tagged amazon.co.uk URL; other
retailers hop via /go/. The skip-list is written before the link is added. Official advice is never an affiliate
hop. If the right answer is “do not buy this”, the page still says that next to a retailer search. Commission
      cannot reorder the table.

We may earn from Amazon UK, John Lewis, Boots, Very, Next, Argos, Mamas & Papas and JoJo Maman Bébé when a reader
clicks out and buys. Amazon links carry the Associates tag on the href. Other retailers hop via /go/. A missing
wrap still sends the click to the shop. Full mechanics: [affiliate method](/method/affiliates)
and [disclosure](/affiliate-disclosure).

## How do you treat health, safety and the NHS?

We are not a clinic. Feeding difficulties, jaundice, suspected SIDS risk factors, and product recalls belong with
midwives, GPs, NHS 111 and Trading Standards. We link those routes. We summarise publicly posted safer-sleep and
car-seat rules so a shopper can buy in the right order. That is not a care plan.

When official advice is enough, we say so. The Lullaby Trust’s safer-sleep overview is free. GOV.UK car-seat rules
are free. A paid round-up that restates them without a skip-list is the genre we are trying to replace.

## How do interactive tools fit the same rules?

Tools must work, including with JavaScript off for the core answer. They must not fetch a live price API on page
view. They must not call themselves medical devices. The TOG calculator is a starting map; the baby’s chest is the
check. A broken advertised tool would be taken down, not left as decoration.

Method for tools: [/method/tools](/method/tools). Method for guides: [/method/guides](/method/guides).

## Who is this site not for?

People who want a 40-product “best of” list with every item in stock. People who want us to pick a winner among
car seats we have not installed. People who need clinical care. People outside the UK legal regime — our car-seat
and VAT notes are United Kingdom notes. If you need a shop, shop. If you need a verdict, stay.

The old Il Nido storefront sold organic gifts. We redirected that catalogue into this publisher on 13 August 2026
and logged the change. We will not keep claiming 10% of product profits after we stopped selling products.

## Which sources count as primary, and which do not?

Primary means the organisation that sets the rule: The Lullaby Trust for safer sleep, GOV.UK for car seats, NHS
Best Start in Life for packing and newborn kit, GOTS for organic-fibre grades, HMRC for VAT on children’s
clothes. Forums, retailer blogs and our own old shop copy are not primary. A magazine “2026 checklist” is not a
      source.

We print a check date next to every specific number and every official URL we rely on. If the official page
changes, we correct the guide and log it. We do not cite anonymous forum threads as evidence for a UK-wide
buying rule. Lived anecdotes, when we use them, are labelled as anecdotes. Retailer round-ups are useful for
seeing what the market is pushing — they are not evidence that you need the tenth item.

## How do you treat prices, ratings and “average spend”?

We do not publish a price we did not capture, and we do not mystery-shop a weekly basket, so we do not print fake
averages. Planning bands in the budget tool are labelled as bands. We will not turn supplier stars into our
review, or emit AggregateRating in schema. If we cannot source it, we cut it.

Retailer stock and delivery cut-offs change faster than a static page. We send you to the retailer to see today’s
price rather than freeze a number that will be wrong by Friday. That is slower content. It is also the only
honest version of an affiliate page that does not run a live price API on every view.

## What can money not buy on BabyNido?

A ranking, a quieter skip-list, a missing affiliate star, a fabricated test, or a correction taken down because a
brand asked. If we ever ran a display ad it would be labelled and kept off the verdict. Today we only run outbound
affiliate links. Payment cannot buy a sentence that implies we installed a seat.

We may add or drop affiliate partners when a programme is live or dead. A dead partner is removed from the
allowlist rather than left as a 302 to nowhere. The editorial order — official advice, then skip-list, then a
retailer search — does not change when a partner is added.

## How do you treat sister sites InstantDeedPoll, SwiftWill and Money Guide?

They are the same company as BabyNido: Elite Digital AI Solutions Ltd. We disclose that next to the link. They are
not GOV.UK, not law firms, and not financial advice. We only link them on the admin pages where a parent actually
needs a name change, a will, or the tax overlay, after the official source. Those links are not affiliate hops: no
star, no /go/, no rel=sponsored. A purchase there is never required to use this site.

## How often do pages change, and what does Last updated mean?

dateModified moves when the advice, a source, or a material fact changed — not when we fix a typo or regenerate
the build. The visible “Last updated” line, the sitemap lastmod, and the JSON-LD dateModified are the same
constant. A fresh timestamp on unchanged copy would be a lie to crawlers, so we refuse it.

We re-check official URLs when we touch a guide. We do not add a “what’s new in 2026” paragraph to keep a URL
looking fresh. Evergreen slugs, no year in the path. If UK car-seat law or GOTS labelling grades change, that is
a real edit, a corrections-log line, and a new date.

## How does this publisher differ from the old Il Nido shop?

Il Nido sold organic gifts and clothes. BabyNido publishes buying verdicts and may earn a commission if you click
out. We do not hold stock. We do not rank our old SKUs. Old /shop URLs redirect to the nearest guide. The give-back
line is now “donate direct” because there are no shop profits to split.

That history is disclosed because it is a conflict if we hide it: we used to need you to buy a hamper. We now
need the verdict to be true even when the true answer is a voucher or nothing. If a sentence only made sense when
we had a basket, it does not belong on the new site.
