Cotton wool pads for face, neck folds and nappy area. Never cotton buds inside ears or nose — NHS newborn-care pages say so. Amazon sells buds in the baby aisle anyway. That is merchandising. Clean around the ear, not in it. Lil-Lets-style pads are the useful restock. If a relative gifts buds, use them for nails polish on an adult, not for a baby’s ear canal. ## What sun cream does a baby need in the UK? Keep babies under six months out of direct sun: shade, clothing, a hat. For older babies, shade first, then a children’s SPF 30 or more if they will be out. We will not pick a “best SPF 2026”.
