VAT — zero-rated children's clothing

Most baby and young children's clothing sold in the UK qualifies for zero-rated VAT (0%) underHMRC VAT Notice 714. Our checkout uses Stripe Tax with product tax codes so qualifying clothing and gift sets containing young children's clothing are not charged standard 20% VAT.

• Zero-rated (0%): Clothing and gift sets predominantly comprising young children's clothing.
• Standard-rated (20%): Changing bags, non-clothing accessories, and optional luxury gift-box upsells where applicable.
• All prices shown on this website are inclusive of VAT where VAT applies.

UKCA / CE & general product safety

All clothing and accessories we sell are intended to comply with the UK General Product Safety Regulations 2005 and carryUKCA and/or CE marking where required. We work with audited suppliers who provide conformity documentation for each product line.

Nightwear flammability (BS 5722)

Sleepsuits and other garments sold as children's nightwear must meet flammability performance requirements under BS 5722. Our nightwear styles use low fire-hazard fabrics and carry the sewn-in warning:“Keep away from fire” / low fire hazard wording as required.

Cords & drawstrings (BS EN 14682)

UK law heavily restricts cords and drawstrings on children's clothing due to strangulation and entrapment risks. Our baby and toddler garments are designed without hood cords or functional drawstrings, in accordance with BS EN 14682.

Fabric labelling (English)

By law, every garment includes a permanent label in English stating:

• Exact fibre composition (e.g. “100% Cotton”)
• Laundering and care instructions
• UK supplier identity / responsible person details where required
• Size and age guidance where applicable

The composition and care details on each product page match the information on the physical sewn-in label for that SKU.

Soft toys in gift sets

Any soft toys included in our hampers are CE / UKCA marked and tested to EN71 toy safety standards where applicable.
