Search UK baby guides

How does on-site search work?

This page is a real index of guides, tools, the skip-list and compare pages. The form uses GET, so a link with a query still works without JavaScript. Official NHS, GOV.UK and Lullaby Trust pages are not hosted here — we cite them. We do not search live shop prices. If you already know the slug, go there.

What should you type?

Type the product or the worry: car seat, TOG, GOTS, walker, muslin, hospital bag. Skip clinical feeding questions — the NHS already wins there. Skip a SKU hunt; we will not rank every listing. The skip-list is the house no. Guides are the decision. Tools are the calculator.

272 pages are listed. Add a query to filter. Query result URLs are not indexed.

  • Product

    Adhesive cupboard and drawer locks

Compare on Amazon UK. A high-volume baby-proofing pack. Compare adhesive strength and whether you will actually install them on cleaner-cupboard doors.

  • Product

    Angelcare bath support

Compare on Amazon UK. A mesh support that sits in an adult bath so you have two hands. Common UK listing. Never leave a baby in water unattended.

  • Product

Audio baby monitor with parent unit

Compare on Amazon UK. A dedicated parent receiver avoids an app account. Enough for most UK terraces while you room-share less. Walk the house before you keep it.

  • Product

Aveeno Baby gentle bath and wash

Compare on Amazon UK. A high-ranking Amazon UK baby wash. Tear-free is a comfort claim, not a medical one. Compare fragrance: bedtime lavender is optional, not essential.

  • Product

    Baby nail clippers

Compare on Amazon UK. NHS bathing pages name special baby clippers or round-ended scissors. Compare a guard and a size you can hold, not a character print.

  • Product

Baby nail scissors and emery board

Compare on John Lewis. Round-ended scissors or a fine file if clippers snap too loudly. NHS says filing is an option. Cut when they are asleep or relaxed.

  • Product

    BabyBjorn Bouncer Bliss

Compare on Amazon UK. A common UK bouncer listing. It is a sit-and-soothe seat, not a sleep space. Move the baby to a flat cot if they fall asleep.

  • Product

    BabyBjorn Mini carrier

Compare on John Lewis. A frequently listed newborn buckle carrier. Confirm inward-facing, hip position, and that the airway stays visible.

  • Product

    Bepanthen nappy care ointment

Compare on Amazon UK. The cream Amazon UK shoppers actually search. A pharmacist-counter barrier, not a diagnosis. Thin layer on clean dry skin after the NHS steps.

  • Product

Black and white sensory toy set

Compare on Amazon UK. High Amazon UK toy sales for 0–6 months. Supervised tummy time, not a cot mobile that stays in overnight.

  • Product

    Budget baby bouncer

Compare on Amazon UK. A cheaper bounce seat can do the same job if it has a harness and a stable base. Compare stability, not the toy bar.

  • Product

    Clair de Lune Moses basket

Compare on Amazon UK. A common UK palm-basket listing. It still needs a firm flat mattress and a clear interior. Outgrown when they roll or hit the maker’s limit.

  • Product

Compact crib for the parents’ room

Compare on John Lewis. If a full cot does not fit beside the bed, a compact crib is the space solution. Same mattress rules. Same clear-cot rules.

  • Product

    Compact fold pushchair (YOYO-style)

Compare on Amazon UK. Lightweight folds matter on buses and in small boots. Newborn use still needs lie-flat or an approved carrycot / newborn kit.

  • Product

Cot bed with drop-side or adjustable base

Compare on Amazon UK. A cot that converts later can be the only sleep furniture you buy. The mattress still has to be new, firm, flat and snug.

  • Product

    Cotton bodysuit / vest multipack

Compare on John Lewis. The layer under a sleepsuit. Poppers under the nappy. Fewer than sleepsuits — they stay cleaner.

  • Product

    Cybex Cloud i-Size infant carrier

Compare on Amazon UK. Often compared for a lie-flat-on-chassis story. The car is still travel, not a cot. Confirm the legal category and the fit in your seats.

  • Product

    Digital underarm thermometer

Compare on Amazon UK. NHS pages ask for a digital thermometer in the armpit for children under five. Compare a clear display and a flexible tip, not a gadget pack.

  • Product

    Electric breast pump

Compare on John Lewis. Pump guides exist because parents search them. Compare only if you will express. Hospital-grade hire vs a single-user pump are different jobs.

  • Product

Ergobaby Embrace / newborn buckle carrier

Compare on Amazon UK. A structured carrier with a newborn mode. Compare the newborn insert or inward-facing height, not Instagram photos.

  • Product

    Firm flat waterproof cot mattress

Compare on Amazon UK. The product that actually matters in the sleep space. Compare size to your cot (no gaps), firmness, and a waterproof surface. Buy new.

  • Product

    Fragrance-free baby wash

Compare on Amazon UK. Childs Farm unscented and similar UK listings. One bottle beats a five-piece toiletry tower. Patch-test if skin is reactive.

  • Product

    Fragrance-free nappy sacks

Compare on Amazon UK. Naty-style compostable sacks and supermarket rolls are everyday Amazon sellers. Useful in a changing bag. Skip scented “fresh linen” sacks next to newborn skin.

  • Product

    Free-flow / no-valve trainer cup

Compare on Amazon UK. NHS prefers an open cup or a free-flow cup without a non-spill valve so they learn to sip. TUM TUM Tippy Up-style listings are the comparison, not a leak-proof teat cup.

  • Product

    GOTS organic sleepsuit

Compare on Amazon UK. Pay the premium on high-contact pieces when the logo is real. One GOTS sleepsuit beats a drawer of uncertified “organic” slogans.

  • Product

    Huggies Little Swimmers

Compare on Amazon UK. Disposable swim nappies are an Amazon UK bestseller. They hold solids, not wee. You still need them in most UK pools. Not a day-nappy substitute at home.

  • Product

    Huggies Pure / own-brand unscented

Compare on Amazon UK. Plastic-free and own-brand unscented packs are how most UK parents actually restock. Compare ingredients, not a “natural” title.

  • Product

    IKEA Antilop-style high chair

Compare on Amazon UK. A simple, wipe-clean chair that many UK parents actually use. Add a crotch strap if the model needs one. Wait until they can sit.

  • Product

    Joie / Graco travel cot

Compare on John Lewis. Frequently listed UK travel cots. Check the mattress thickness against the manual. No extras in the sleep space.

  • Product

    Joie i-Snug / i-Size infant carrier

Compare on Amazon UK. A common UK R129 infant carrier listing. Compare the height range, whether it needs a base, and whether it fits your car — not the fabric pack.

  • Product

Joie travel system (chassis + infant carrier)

Compare on Amazon UK. A typical UK travel-system listing: infant carrier clicks onto a chassis. Confirm the seat is R129 and that you will actually fit it in the car.

  • Product

    Lansinoh disposable breast pads

Compare on Amazon UK. A top Amazon UK maternity listing. Leak protection for the parent, not a baby product. Compare absorbency and whether you prefer washable pads.

  • Product

    Lansinoh HPA lanolin

Compare on Amazon UK. Hospital-bag staple on Amazon UK. For sore nipples — follow NHS breastfeeding support if feeding hurts beyond a simple cream. We are not a lactation clinic.

  • Product

    Lie-flat pram or carrycot chassis

Compare on John Lewis. The NHS lists a fully reclining pushchair if you will walk. A carrycot on a chassis is one way to do that without a full matching system.

  • Product

    MAM / anti-colic bottles

Compare on Amazon UK. Another frequently listed UK bottle system. Teats are not interchangeable across brands. Buy a small starter, not a cupboard.

  • Product

    MAM orthodontic dummy (0–6 months)

Compare on Amazon UK. A frequent Amazon UK soother listing. Compare the age range and whether you will sterilise it. One dummy, not a drawer.

  • Product

Maxi-Cosi Pebble / Coral infant carrier

Compare on Amazon UK. Frequently listed as a click-in infant carrier for travel systems. Check R129 labelling and ISOFIX base compatibility for your chassis.

  • Product

    Metanium Everyday barrier ointment

Compare on Amazon UK. Another common UK barrier listing, fragrance-free. Compare the everyday barrier vs a treatment ointment — they are not the same job.

  • Product

My Carry Potty / travel potty

Compare on Amazon UK. A high-ranking Amazon UK travel potty. Useful once they are actually training and you leave the house. Skip as a newborn gift.

  • Product

    Newborn disposable nappies

Compare on Amazon UK. Start with one brand in newborn and have a 3–6 kg pack ready — many babies skip tiny sizes. Do not gift a jumbo mixed box as the only present.

  • Product

    Open cup or beaker

Compare on John Lewis. The NHS end-state: an open cup. A cheap beaker can beat a branded “360” if they will actually sip water with meals.

  • Product

    Organic cotton wool pads

Compare on Amazon UK. Lil-Lets-style pads are a UK bestseller for topping and tailing. NHS still prefers cotton wool and water for many newborns. Never cotton buds inside ears or nose.

  • Product

Pampers Sensitive / 99% water wipes

Compare on Amazon UK. A high-volume UK supermarket and Amazon listing. Compare fragrance-free claims and pack count, not the cartoon on the packet.

  • Product

    Pharmacy digital thermometer

Compare on Boots. A Boots or high-street digital stick is the same job as a marketplace listing. Useful if you want a returns desk.

  • Product

    Pressure-mounted stair gate

Compare on Amazon UK. Regalo-style gates are an Amazon UK bestseller. Measure the opening. Pressure mounts are often for the bottom of stairs; follow the maker on the top of stairs.

  • Product

    Reusable cloth nappy starter

Compare on Amazon UK. Cloth is a system, not a one-pack decision. Compare a starter kit only if you want the laundry. Not a newborn gift unless they asked.

  • Product

    Silicone teething toy

Compare on Amazon UK. A simple chewable. Compare one-piece silicone you can wash, not a bead necklace they can break.

  • Product

    Silicone weaning bib

Compare on Amazon UK. A wipe-clean bib is the useful weaning buy. Compare a catch-pocket, not a character print. Wait until solids start — around six months per NHS timing.

  • Product

    Simple floor potty

Compare on Amazon UK. The first potty is a bowl they will sit on when they are ready — often around 18–24 months, not a newborn. Compare stability and a wipe-clean bowl.

  • Product

    Simple foam play mat

Compare on Amazon UK. A wipe-clean floor is enough for tummy time. Skip giant puzzle mats that off-gas a chemical smell you cannot source.

  • Product

    Simple plastic baby bath

Compare on Amazon UK. The NHS notes a baby bath or a washing-up bowl. A plain tub is enough. Fragrance-free wash matters more than a themed sponge set.

  • Product

    Simple zinc / barrier cream

Compare on John Lewis. A basic barrier many UK pharmacies stock. The NHS says a pharmacist can recommend a cream — start there if you are unsure.

  • Product

Skip Hop / activity play gym

Compare on Amazon UK. A floor gym for supervised awake time. Not a cot toy. Not a sleep product. Useful once they start tracking objects.

  • Product

    Skip Hop Moby bath

  • Product

    SnuzPod-style next-to-me crib

Compare on Amazon UK. A bedside crib can make night feeds easier while keeping a separate surface if used as designed. It is not a shared duvet.

  • Product

    Sophie la girafe teether

Compare on Amazon UK. A UK gift-aisle teether that also ranks as a toy. Check it is intact, cleanable, and not a cot toy overnight.

  • Product

    Splash About Happy Nappy

Compare on Amazon UK. A reusable neoprene-style swim nappy common in UK lessons. Compare size against the pool’s rules. Wash after sessions.

  • Product

    Steam or microwave steriliser

Compare on John Lewis. Needed if you use bottles. NHS lists sterilising equipment for formula feeding. A microwave steam bag can be the small start.

  • Product

Stokke Tripp Trapp / grow-with-child chair

Compare on John Lewis. A long-life wooden chair. Worth comparing if you want one seat from weaning to homework. Newborn inserts are optional extras, not essentials.

  • Product

    Stretchy wrap baby carrier

Compare on Amazon UK. Often the first newborn carry: fabric wrap, baby high and tight, airway visible. Learn T.I.C.K.S. / NHS sling advice before a long walk.

  • Product

The Little Green Sheep cot mattress

Compare on Amazon UK. A frequently compared natural-fibre UK listing. Still apply the same test: firm, flat, snug, new. Fibre is not a safer-sleep upgrade on its own.

  • Product

The Little Green Sheep Moses basket

Compare on Amazon UK. Often sold with a natural mattress. Replace or check that mattress against firm/flat/snug. A stand must be stable — never a sofa.

  • Product

    Tommee Tippee / silicone soother

Compare on Amazon UK. Another common UK dummy. Same rules: no neck cord, no sweet dip, sterilise, not a feeding-cue mask.

  • Product

    Tommee Tippee starter bottle set

Compare on Amazon UK. A common UK bottle-and-teat listing if you already plan to bottle-feed. Sterilising method still needed. Not a “just in case” panic buy for the ward.

  • Product

Tommee Tippee Twist and Click nappy bin

Compare on Amazon UK. A high-revenue Amazon UK nappy-disposal listing. Compare cassette cost over a year, not the starter price. A lidded pedal bin plus nappy sacks does the same job for many homes.

  • Product

    Travel cot with firm mattress

Compare on Amazon UK. Useful for grandparents or the first nights away. The mattress still has to be firm and snug. It is not a day-one essential if a Moses basket already moves.

  • Product

    Video baby monitor (non-Wi-Fi first)

Compare on Amazon UK. Useful if you want to glance without opening the door. Prefer a parent-unit video link over a public cloud if you can find one.

  • Product

    WaterWipes / fragrance-free wipes

Compare on Amazon UK. Unscented, alcohol-free wipes or cotton wool are the NHS-style starting point. Compare ingredients, not character packs.

  • Product

    WaterWipes Sensitive / plastic-free

Compare on Amazon UK. The listing that usually sits at the top of Amazon UK Baby. 99.9% water, unscented. Compare pack size and whether you will actually finish 720 wipes before they dry out.

  • Product

    Weaning spoons and suction bowl

Compare on John Lewis. Soft spoons and a bowl that stays put. Compare dishwasher-safe silicone. Skip a blender if you will mash with a fork.

  • Product

    Zip sleepsuit 0–3 months (multipack)

Compare on Amazon UK. The daily UK babygrow. Two-way zips win at 2 a.m. Compare envelope necks and fold-over mitts, not the print.
